Recycling in Europe
The European Union (EU) has implemented the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive to "preserve, protect and improve the quality of the environment, protect human health and utilize natural resources prudently and rationally". Racine Federated Inc. is committed to meeting the objectives of this directive and is taking proactive measures that include new product design, manufacturing and procurement processes as well as end of life product recycling.
Manufacturing a variety of flow measurement instrumentation and concrete vibration equipment, including the exclusive Square Head™ vibrator since 1970, Racine Federated products are supplied to the European market under several brand names including: Blancett, Dynasonics, Flo-tech, Hedland, Preso, Racine Vortex and Wyco. Products within each of these brands that are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin WEEE symbol must be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner by returning it to a designated recycling service.
Racine Federated has adopted the Proximity Principal ‘The Importer is responsible for locally generated WEEE’. Racine Federated recognizes its responsibility in this regard, and all WEEE imported into the EC should be returned to the regional Distributor (refer to the RFIE website for the regional distributor www.rfieurope.eu). RFI Europe, the European Head Office, will coordinate with the local distributor the recycling of the qualifying product.
